Tucked away in the heart of the Pays d’Auge, the Church of Notre-Dame-d’Estrées is a hidden gem brimming with history. Its remarkable architecture, blending styles from the 13th to the 18th century, makes it a true testament to Normandy’s rich heritage.
Recently restored, the church now reveals all the beauty of its interior: vaulted oak ceilings, a majestic altarpiece, and striking religious artwork. Its colorful stained glass windows beautifully depict scenes from the life of Jesus.

The reception will then be held in the Château de Canon, an 18th-century estate with Protestant roots and a rich history deeply intertwined with the local heritage. The castle was acquired by Jean-Baptiste Élie de Beaumont, a staunch advocate of the Protestant cause, and his wife Anne-Louise Morin du Mesnil. Together, they turned the castle into a pillar of the local community, enhancing the grounds and cultivating close ties with the people of the region. Anne-Louise, a brilliant writer and intellectual, is the author of the renowned Lettres du Marquis de Roselle, a testament to her sharp wit and deep attachment to the castle. The couple also founded the Fête des Bonnes Gens, an annual celebration honoring the virtues of the local villagers. Over time, it became a cherished tradition, symbolizing the lasting bond between the estate and the surrounding community. With its stunning gardens and well-preserved heritage, the Château de Canon continues to embody this spirit of sharing and commitment at the heart of Normandy.

Let’s be honest, it hardly ever rains in Normandy, right? But with an autumn wedding, we recommend packing a pair of comfortable shoes to complement your fancy ones, especially if you plan to stroll through the castle’s enchanting gardens — they’re truly magical at this time of the year! The bride will confidently step out in her stunning rain boots! A warm coat and an umbrella might also be wise additions to your suitcase. Rest assured, both the church and the reception hall will be toasty, and we’ll have outdoor heaters (a.k.a. your new best friends) ready to keep you warm. No color restrictions for your outfits (except white — that one’s taken). Just come dressed to impress and ready to celebrate in style!

Our dogs are an essential part of our lives, and it’s even thanks to them that our hearts grew closer! So, you’ll definitely meet Opper, our golden retriever, and Nougatine, the Formery family’s labrador. Opper is basically a teddy bear with four legs, and Nougatine? She’s a duchess with a taste for the finer things in life. She’ll probably be eyeing your champagne.
But please, no snacks for them! They’re on a very strict "cuddle-only" diet.

Unfortunately, this is a child-free wedding — we love you all, but we’re not ready to negotiate with tiny dictators over cake!
